Hi everybody,
This is my first post. I wanted to introduce my two beautiful Blue and Gold Macaws.

Rosy -
I am approxmently 25 years old. I was rescued from a parrot rehoming centre. My history is unknown apart from spending 1 year in a secluded shed.
Luckily I was with Jim.. Now i spend most of my time eating through toys like butter and enjoying my faviroute snack. I'm still a bit skitish around people but I slowly warm to them.

Jim -
I am also approxmently 25 years old. Unforunanley I share the same past as Rosy. I love monkey nuts and If you are on the phone I will squawk as loud as I can. I am rather protective over Rosy but if you feed me monkey nuts i suppose we can be friends.

Lovely to hear about you Rosy and Jim...well we must try and persuade you to try other nuts such as walnuts, pecans and almonds, as monkey nuts aren’t really the best sort for parrots...well especially the ones sold as bird food, if you cannot live without them them get some human grade ones, as they should not harbour any aspergillus spores.

It’s good that you are enjoying chewing your toys, I bet James has a job keeping up with those big beaks!
Welcome t the forum, we look forward to hearing more about you.

Hello Rosy and Jim, Welcome. Yes you should try some other nuts or get monkey nuts that are fit for humans. You never know you might prefere them so have fun trying different types of nuts.
It sounds to me you like your enjoying your new home with James. Have fun with your parrot toys xx

Hi Tom,
Lovely to hear from you too and don't worry we only have the human grade nuts but only as a treat! They just taste so good.

We absolutly love chewing on our toys and yes, James does have his hands full! Especially with the amount of toys we get through.

Well mine do love their almonds. Mine are very fussy eaters. You should get James to have a look on
https://www.scarlettsparrotessentials.co.uk. They sell nuts too.
James seems like he is giving you both a great life. You definitely got yourself a good home.

Hello and :welcome: James, it is great to have you, Jim and Rosy on board. Just one little thing . . . . pics, looove pics! :)

Oh no thats a shame. we are not fussy at all. to be honest I think we would eat just about anything hehe.
James currently gets all our products though this store - http://stores.ebay.co.uk/zoofauna12?_trksid=p2047675.l2563
Soon they are going to stock a product called Zupreem? Does anyone know if this is good to feed us and if we will enjoy it?

My lot are not on Pellet food, they love seeds far too much. Be careful if they add lots of colouring to the foods. I know it looks colourful and pretty like you two but I have heard it is not good for you.

Hello Rosie and Jim and welcome from me and my flock. well its good to have you on board look forwards to hearing more about your Macaws I have two green winged and a b&g Jackie JJ, Nobby and Bailey in my flock

I use Harrison’s pellets along with Nutriberries, and Delinature 61 seed for my Amazon.
Zupreem pellets are Ok...but try and steer clear of the ones which have the added colourings, as they aren’t good.

Welcome from me & my small flock. l only have one nutty b&g macaw (ones more than enough for me).
He eats a variety of nuts particularly almonds & he loves monkey nuts (in moderation). Your macaws sound lovely
