Hi, Recommendations Please

Ok will need to speak with your parents first and then they can give permission for you to speak to me, i will also like to speak after to them and if I do allow a visit it will be your parents that I will pass my details on too. I never allow any one i believe under the age of 18 to visit alone. and for the birds protection i have to satisfy that the reasons for visiting are genuine

Of course, I understand.
I would never dream of visiting anyone alone anyway. Thanks

Hi All
I'm looking for an African Grey in and around Bedfordshire. Does anyone know any breeders or anywhere that sell hand reared greys.
Parv

@Parv Michael isn't a breeder the birds he is looking after for the owner just happen to be sitting at the moment it would be a very long time before any chick would be reared and ready to leave and then would have to be registered etc etc
Try contacting the Parrot society they will have a list of grey breeders. Alternatively pop a note in the breeder section on forum so people can see your post and leave you any information they may have.

I have a grey on three eggs but the bird's are not mine and that will be down to the birds owner I am not planning on hand rearing them but I parent reared with human contact. Only once they are fully weaned will I start training, as they are not even hatched and the owner of Max and Mo has to decide what he wants its too early to comment. they will be fully registered that has already been decided.

:welcome:from me too. Good idea to join the Parrot Society UK and get their monthly mag where UK breeders advertise.

Got to get them hatched first Michael and as first time breeders it's going to be a long slog especially with other birds around. About three weeks to hatch, plus 14 weeks on top to fully weaned so your talking next March / April time

It will not be the first time I have bred parrots or even assisted in feeding and I have even been shown and trained in tube feeding but I have never bred any greys before, Max and mo are sitting in the box together quite a bit and I may see mo for a short time each day but not for long, she comes out for a quick head scratch and then back on the eggs.

Thanks guys. Please do contact me come April/May. If I've not got one by then I may be interested, that is of course of the owner is looking for forever home for the lil Greys.
I will contact the parrot society tomorrow.
Thank you for the warm welcome and swift response.

Yes - lots. I've been brought up around all types of birds including parrots. My Dad still has some.
We have now decided to get our own baby. Our boys are totally looking forward to it, they spend so much time with Kwazi and George they want one too. I have so much passion for our feathered friends.

Lol, my Son named the Indian ring neck Kwazi after a character from the children's cartoon on cbbc, the octonaughts.
My Dad has had various birds.for the past 30 years in greys. He also wants a Grey now, but I thought id get one first.

Do you pet sit the birds then, if they are not yours?
What's your favourite?
