New Alexandrine owner

the bells that you have look nice and are designed for budgies, ok I do not even use them even in a budgie cage, birds that use there feet can get there toes caught in the slits, this can lead to broken toes or cut toes and even the toe being ampliated , a parrots beak can crush them that can make the bells more dangerous, I will recommend removing them.
 
To be honest I don’t really like them , they are what came with the cage so will get rid ! Got a few goodies coming for him soon .
 
that's ok, I have had a few accidents with toys, twice I have had to take birds to the fire station for removal of parts of toys from beaks. but we all try our best to keep a bird safe, but there is no 100 per cent safe place. even a nest box, you may think how can a nest box be dangerous, I had a female Pennant that got her toe caught inside and she bit her toe off to escape, one box that had internal pieces of wood to help a bird climb out to the top had one of its runs come off and a bird got caught on a thin nail, even one of my greys chewed the hole of one box and got a splinter through its tongue. even Conker last week managed to get her foot caught in-between the food bowl and the holder bar inside a cage.
 
Even the toy in the cage I can see the clip is a spring closure, I will recommend getting the same shape clip but one that closes the gap with like a bolt. yes I have had to rescue birds that got them caught on there beak, once it was at a pet shop, they did sell the toy but after the incident they took them all off there shelves and replaced the clips, they even did a notice for bird owners whom had bought any toys with the spring clip on them to return the toy so they can modify the toy to make it safer. the worst but luckiest accident I came home too was with my bara band (superb parrot) I had a cage that the top opened up, this was my fault and an accident that nearly cost the life of Bobbie. I had not secured it properly and just had one side open. to come home and find your bird hanging by its neck with the top closed on it was just so frightening. Bobbie was ok after a few days of soft food. Along with my Beryl, Bobbie became one of my most loyal birds
