Best cage liner

Hi I am new on her I have two Kakariki parrots what is the best cage liner I am currently using sand but have read that it is not good for them any help would be greatly appreciated.

kaks are ground foragers so like to rummage around on the floor, you can use newspaper but if you have a real forager people use a parrot safe non treated wood chip. I’m uncertain of the brand hopefully @DizzyBlue might know.

My birds all all aviary birds.
There are numerous different things you can use inside the cage.
My lot as Yellowchickenparrot said looooove to root around in stuff foraging.

I have been using sand but is very messy and not sure if paper would be better for them x

We use beech chips in the foraging trays, but also 100% wood, no chemicals etc.... cat litter on their tree bases which they also like mooching around in.

with Kakarikis' i prefer to use parrot safe wood chips, they just love foraging on the floor and its keeps them occupied and healthy
