Parrot Transport

I would have thought you would contact the airline you want to use and ask them their advice if you are thinking of flying her. She would need a travel cage that meets all the rules. She would travel in the hold but not the unheated part. I know in the US it's pretty common to fly birds to new owners, but not all airlines provide this service.

I once sent a kitten by plane to Jersey without too much trouble, I did ring the airport then. Rang east midland, was put through to Manchester airport automatically and ended up with several choices by a robot, none any use. I just selected one at random and was given Jets for Pets number to ring, they said they only do international transporting. Round and around in circles, maybe Jersey was classed as international?.

I know that one of the guys who works at the Aero Club in Jersey does pet transfers to and from there and the UK and France.....
You could perhaps try contacting local flying clubs and asking them????

Thank you Tomsmum but it would be difficult living up here and trying to arrange it for England, I have some friends who fly up from London sometimes but they are not due again till after the new year and getting her to and from airports. I think we may have found a way just waiting to see how things would work.

Hi Kendra, I'm just about to enquire for a customer about transport from Wales to the North East. I believe they do Highlands postcodes for around £75. If you want to give me your postcode I can ask for you at the same time if you like.

@Kendra

@Catalina She is not coming here straight but to either Sheffield or Huddersfield, depends on how/when she is picked up. Until Lacyc is in action again I do not know the precise postcode where she is to be picked up from, which is a little difficult for pricing. Thank you for informing me, but all on hold for the moment.

@Kendra the company I spoke to are lovely and they seem very professional. I'm going to use them myself so I can let you know how I get on in case they are any use for you at some point. They said they don't do ferry travel, but otherwise the max charge would be around £65.

It's Walker Livestock Transport. I haven't used them personally (yet) but they come with a good recommendation and they sounded very professional on the phone. Mainland England Wales etc is £45 and that's per delivery not per bird.

@Kendra l live in Sheffield near j31 of the m1 & would be happy to travel down so far if it would help. l think the quote you was given was ridiculous it didn't cost me that to have a pony transported from the isle of wight

@Catalina I have just put Walker Livestock Transport into the browser and found many Walkers that transport but nothing of the exact name, any further info please?

The company have returned a charge of £45 for the journey from way down south to Sheffield on a Saturday, I think they must have that wrong will wait for Catalina's experience and look into them again if everything OK.

Maybe they tie it in with other deliveries whether birds or parcels to cover costs, as that wouldn't even cover fuel I wouldn't think!! @Kendra

Yes K8 that is probably it, but what are they carrying and do they care for the birds needs on the journey? On the list for stating what pet was the jounery for, carrier pigeons were mentioned, also dogs, cats. I need to know a lot more.
