Cockatiel With No Tail Feathers

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone on here could help me. I've put my name down for a cockatiel friend for my female. I am using the same breeder as I did for my female bird. My bird is really strong and healthy and the breeder has always been brilliant helping us with advice & I know she looks after her birds really well.

But, I noticed one of her birds on her website had no tail feathers, she says on the site this was due to a moult, but should I be worried? I typed the symptoms into google & nothing really came up... I'm just worried as a. This has never happened to me or any other of my tiel friends & b. I don't want to offend or upset the breeder as she has been so good to us with help/advice in the past.

Am I overreacting? The birds were new to her flock last year from another breeder so could it just be one of "those oddities" would REALLY appreciate anyone telling me what they would do, as I couldn't live with myself if I put my current birds at risk,

Thank you so much in advance

Hi and  :welcome: as Liz says it wouldnt be due to a moult, if they moulted all tail/flight feathers at once that would affect their flying ability

Thank you both so much, I feel much better now, yes all the other birds & feathers are fine so thank you- one happy mum to be here now! Also many thanks for the welcome :)
