Just looked at the date of this thread and it was almost a year ago Periscope first came to my attention.
Shrimps look like they won't need feeding for a few days :watchout:
Simple solution reference lid …. you don't have conventional lids you have glass insert lids with a slide cover over a very small feeder hole and have the canopy sat on top like normal that way if canopy is removed no access to have a bath in the tank uninvited.
One thing though @Oli Fry aren't your birds now in an aviary outdoors ….. :naughty2: do you feel the pull of the humming filter getting louder :risas3:

That's absolutely right..they are now outdoors. I do sometimes toy with getting a little shoal of Corydoras catfish!

Well if your planning a little shoal .. may as well make it a tad larger and add a few other bits and bats to the mix … just for interest and thought process of giving fish different species to interact with naturally :emoji_innocent: perish the thought I would be encouraging you to getting a huge tank or even one like the stunner that Andy (YellowChickenParrot) has, that is a show stopper :) ok so its marine but WOWZER!!!
@Yellowchickenparrot got a piccie you can share?

Yeah, it's cleaning out the filters and carrying out water changes that used to kill me. But parrots are ten times worse!
