One good thing about Buster is that he dose not bite …………………. well he dose not bite me, mind you he has had about five people that I know off. I have only been bit once by a too yes fell into it trap of being so nicely nicely then chomp on my lip,
I love the old jokes, just a few facts, not all pirates' that used eye patches had a problem with there eye, very few had a false eye that in them days would of been made of wood. a person willing to fight with a known injury would have been feared more, a person with a patch was more venerable to get attacked from the side of the patch. some pirates used this fact in battles having small holes that they could see through and there for surprise the attacker by there quick action and also not having to worry so much of being attacked from both sides, if a pirate had no eye they would often take his patch off as an intimidator to his attacker. If I was too suddenly take my nose off if I was being threatened the unexpected shook will give me an advantage as they would not expect the hole in my face. it will make me seem to be stronger as they do not know why I have no nose and stand up to them will make them fill my looks are a intimidator, most pirates lost there eye though accidents and not fighting
the Blue and gold macaw would have been a unusual sight to see with pirates. depending in the base of there ship and the trade routs that the Spanish and French used it would of been more likely if they had a bird to be an amazon, grey or eclectus parrot. if not a raptor.
I will have to find my pirate hat that I have used in some of my lectures and talks, what advantage can having a bird on board a ship out at see, they can be trained to call an alarm if they see another ship, especially the raptors, a birds eyesight is far better than our own, ships pets would normally be the cat or Pigs, the sad thing is any animal would of been put in the cooking pot if they needed food. you have not met my Buster, he can be very nasty to others I am just glad he loves me
