@caza66 you are correct the law coming into force has been changed again at the beginning of September!
Gives us two weeks to register.
So if you own ANY amount of birds and they are in an aviary, or go out for walks on their harness or free fly they have to be registered by 1st October. If they are house birds and never go out unless they are going to see a vet they do not need to be registered.
just had an argument with them about their stupid policy said ok will register the cockatiels but not my others as they don't go out. Errr we want to know all of them NOPE you don't get that information they don't go out. Oh right.... fair enough can we take your details ..... nope whistle dixie!
Aviary birds all have to be registered even if its just one budgie. Did say if the birds are sealed in an aviary the temp gets to 28 degrees and their is no air flow they are dead anyway so not an issue but I may sue you for cruelty to animals .... He went very quiet
So every duck, chicken, goose, cockatiel, budgie, bird of prey etc that has any access to fresh air basically has to be registered.... If they think I am registering my indoor birds when I take them into my own garden in their travel cages whilst main cages are scrubbed out they can also whistle dixie... flipping numpties
