Turning my Bird cage Landscape

Hi all this is the bird cage I have, my four budgies live in this cage. I was recently thinking of turning it landscape so that my budgie could fly more, rather than just flying up and down. Ofc I still let them out, but I want them to fly more comfortably in the cage

Does anyone know how I can go about making a stand for this cage if I turn it diagnolly? I was also thinking of buying another one instead and attaching it to the cage, but again idk how to do this

I’ve been wanting an indoor or outdoor avairy for a while for my budgies so I’m happy for any help! I just want a really big cage for them but I can’t find any good ones, all the avaries I’ve looked at either have toxic wood to budgies or have little / bad reviews

I've been in the position of having a tall cage but wanting a wide one. In the end, I bought a wide cage rather than try to adapt what I've got.
If you are in the UK, I recommend the "Elegance" cage from Little Pet Warehouse. It's easily big enough for eight budgies and often accommodates twelve (or more) of my flock when they decide to crowd in rather than distribute themselves more evenly. Your four would love the space.

If you are in the US perhaps @jandrsc can advise as her cage is similar to mine.
 
If you look about the website Lozhinge mentioned often do promo codes for extra discount many of our members have used the company and purchased it's excellent but you need to provide your own perches and dishes just those little hang on D cup things will do.

Hello, Ayx_Sha. I agree with Loz...you might be better off simply buying another cage, especially if you only have four Budgies.

My twelve Budgies use this cage (that Loz mentioned) however, we have a bird room and they are loose for a lot of time every day. This would be more than enough for your Budgies. (They would still need some time out of the cage, for exercise/enrichment.)

You can also find several YouTube videos about making your own large cages/indoor aviaries with untreated wood and stainless steel mesh. I've been thinking about this lately myself.
 
Here is one aviary cage that I've been considering. It has some bad reviews about the assembly/instructions. I would replace our Budgies' current double cage with this. My husband and I don't want them outside but that's just our preference.

One issue is, many of these cages don't have a floor, I guess because people might put this in a yard or on a porch/patio/deck. Our bird room has carpet and my husband doesn't want to remove it, because it helps keep that room warmer in winter. So I would probably cover the floor with newspaper. I've even seen pictures where people removed carpet just in the cage floor area, and put cheap tile down.

Very much doubt it's suitability for macaws as they state in the description that really made me smile they obviously don't have any birds themselves if they don't know the power in a macaws beak it would look like origami after they were finished with it :lol:

I saw a review for another cage, where someone said that their macaw had snapped several bars!

Plus, most of us would not keep potted plants in the bottom. Maybe a few potted herbs that birds like.
 
Those amazon adverts really make me laugh. The birds are photoshopped into the cages and I've seen canaries the same size as african greys, with a macaw on the other side only about an inch bigger than the grey :lol: I'm sure I've even seen the odd Spix in the pictures too! :risas3:

I laugh at those also! Sometimes a Macaw and Budgie are edited to be the same size. Or you see a cage with two Macaws, a Cockatiel, Budgies, Conures, and a Canary, or some other stupid combination. I wouldn't combine all of those species even if the cage was bigger than our living room!
