    Morning All...

Its a milder morning than recently, light wind and I think its dry but dont look out the door now since giving the birds total peace during the night. I am sure they are benefitting by having available sleeping time doubled. Still not the 12 hours that some reccomend but much better than before.

I guess they are asleep and wont interrupt them for another three hours or so. I dont let them out until Frankie has been outside for the first time as if I have to move fast there could be problems with getting the dog out there and keeping the birds in the van, well, Nacho anyway as he is an excellent flyer.

I was going to Montrose today but do have an appointment at Specsavers and think that is tomorrow but have the card in my wallet which is in the birds room. But if it is tomorrow I can do all things in one trip. I have a few bits 'n' pieces to get from Tesco and want to make a curry, this time it will be chicken with all the goodies in it. I'll make it in my biggest pot and that will do me for the next three days of meals, morning, noon and night, (and through the night). Haha.

    Have a Great Tuesday Everyone

    Good morning everyone!
It would appear my cold hadn't fully developed yesterday as I have woken up feeling worse. These things always feel worse in the morning though. I can't take anything other than paracetamol with being pregnant so just have to ride it out. Hopefully the children don't catch it again.
    Have a good day xxx

Sorry to hear you still have the cold @ladyc. I am very good with colds, 3 days coming, 3 days at its height and 3 days going. I know the feeling about not taking any other medicines, DEFO not pregnant :risas3: but being diabetic I can only take Paracetamol or Co-Codamol.

Morning all, I hope that dam cold goes away @ladyc, it must be awful not to be able to take much for bit as well. Get well soon x

Well I nearly just pooped my pants lol. I had a letter from hospital and didn't understand why I needed to see a neurologist, then when I phoned the kind lady explained it was because of my jaw problems (arthritis) and then I remembered that the specialist wanted to try something new. I am so happy it was only that.
    So I am a happy bunny x

Afternoon everyone! First time I've posted in this thread for a while, so let's see what's new...

Our house build is going fairly well, but completion has been delayed by a month due to the time it's taking to install solid concrete ceilings throughout, which were not in the original plan. We found that we couldn't get away with using plasterboard ceilings here because builders don't line tiled roofs with anything, so any leaks will be coming straight down to the ceiling, which we decided was not what we wanted! The cost isn't going to be too much greater, but looks like we won't be out of our pokey little apartment till well into the New Year now (we were hoping to move out around Xmas).

Baby L is keeping us very busy: in the last few weeks she has learned to crawl at gradually increasing speed, then to climb, then to stand by pulling herself up, then to sit back down (always harder than standing for most babies!) then to start shuffling around while holding on to something. Looks like she will be unstoppable soon! She's also getting a lot of separation anxiety, especially with Mummy (but also with me, if Mummy is there already), so her poor mother is not getting much peace at all! She's also been a rather violent little girl: she has been pulling our hair and thumping us regularly, especially when she thinks she's not getting her own way as much as she should. (She thinks hair pulling is extra clever if an adult is looking the other way at the time, and she can catch them by surprise.)

I don't know whether it's because there has been more music for them to listen to lately which they have been doing an indifferent job of approximating, but the birdies have been doing a lot of beautiful "singing" recently to while away the time, which sounds rather like someone playing the same three notes badly, in random order, on a very cheap and out-of-tune plastic Chinese recorder. They only just gave it a rest after keeping it up for over an hour, but I have no doubt they will start again before long as they seemed to be enjoying themselves; they appear to be taking a break for much needed refreshments and to go squabble in their sleep box while pushing the lid off. Their box will need to be replaced soon as they have been working on it at night over the last couple of months and eaten a large hole in the back, almost big enough to climb through. I suppose they felt they needed extra ventilation, or an emergency exit, and decided to do the job themselves since we weren't providing any.

The in-laws came yesterday bearing a big jackfruit from their garden. We unwisely left it in a plastic bag overnight, and it is now filling the house with the unmistakable and rather overopowering aroma of ripe jackfruit, so it will have to be opened and eaten shortly before it starts going off. Opening jackfruits is a lot of work, as they're filled with latex and the fruit itself is very slippery and slimy - you need a lot of clear space in the kitchen beforehand too. There are going to be at least several pounds of edible fruit inside, assuming it's all good - Mrs A can't eat much jackfruit as it makes her gag, and I can't possibly eat it all, so we will probably offer some to baby and birdies, who I rather doubt will be impressed! Oh, well, best get on with it I suppose...

Thank you everyone. Seems to be getting worse. Hope it doesn't turn into flu. No time for that! Have had a flu jab but only about 3 weeks ago so it may have been too late to save me from this one. Nevermind... much worse things in the world xxx

I would go to your GP @ladyc, just to be on the safe side for you and your baby. Especially if it is getting worse x
