Stunning sunrise this morning clear blue sky not a cloud to see
Was going to travel up to go birding with Bob apparently it's cloudy and overcast up there.... Hmmmm looks like I will be birding down here ..... Wrynecks are on the move ..... Might even just potter around instead. Enthusiasm of a dead slug to do much but enjoy the day perhaps persecute a few weeds in the garden.
Neighbours look heaps better today
What ever your up to today stay safe and enjoy your day

Ooooo forgot to ask how is the chuck today @MJGB - MikeJenGaryBeckyBoo
Morning :) Her crop was a solid ball again this morning, so more tubing water and ACV. I massaged her crop to try and break it down a bit. She did a big wee not long after so defo liquids getting through. Made her a runny porridge again but out of the layers pellets this time. She was happily tucking into them. I'm even considering starting her on a course of baytril as we've still got some in our bird cabinet from fairly recently.

Once she'd had her porridge yesterday, the purple tinge on her comb got less, it was back again this morning, but she was running around with the others so she's trying her best!

Love the disclaimer addition :)
Got to keep her hanging on in until vets are open or available
Have you ever cleared a crop?
Just thinking would be a good idea to do it so baytril could reach crop lining.
We've only done tubing, and massaged the crop to try and get things moving through. No idea how to clear a crop other than that?

morning all, although not a chicken nor a hard crop, I once had a young duck that was always the first to the feed but couldn't swallow it down.
The vet said she might have paralysis of her neck muscles which prevented the food going down her neck but first try putting liquid paraffin down her throat with a syringe. I caught her and did it for two days running and next day she was okay thank goodness, but when i come in with food now she does a runner until I have gone out of the run.. ha ha.
@dianaT , much the same thankyou, I received a letter yesterday, to see the consultant on the 29th of this month, which is the six weeks since surgery where I am noting down my pain level each day. i was about to book two weeks in Alicante full board late sept, early Oct when I realised that would be overlapping my consultation, so was going to book it from 2nd Oct. this morning but now I am wandering if he might re do it quickly so not risking it in case he gives me a date there and then, we have our NHS covid passports, so swill see how it goes it is very warm there in October.
Its going to be a hot here this week so will enjoy that anyway..
have a good sunny day folks.

:welcome:Sorry to hear about your grey, my B/F Amazon passed away last year too he was 37. I am sure our members who live with O/W will be along and so ask away if you have any question. What is this lovely birds name?

:welcome: Mick! How lovely to see another Orange wing here. I’m so sorry you lost your Grey just before Christmas. It must have been a heartbreaking time. I lost my beloved Orange wing, Ollie, also just before Christmas on the 19th Dec due to PDD. I love the inquisitive playfulness of Orange wings. Looking forward to following the progress of your beautiful little chap! As Di asked, what’s his name?

@MJGB - MikeJenGaryBeckyBoo would adding digestive enzymes to her food help? I was adding them to Ollie’s meals.

Good early evening all! hope everybody is
Had a super busy day today and the parrots have enjoyed chopping loads of veggies and throughly enjoyed throwing mushed up carrots and sweet potatoes at me! 😂

Roll on their bed time when i can get a shower and get sweet pots out my hair, bo seemed to think mums head was a wiping perch today for that wonderful messy beak....... the side of owning these beautiful monsters people don’t see ha!

Bo has made my day, i do think this bird has been around before! He was sat on his java stand today looking out of the window and shouts ‘MUM, what is she doing’ well a lady walked on our street, i said just walking Bo.... 5 minutes later ‘MUM, quick what’s she doing now’ again just walking Bo 😂
This morning had a conversation about counting, bo asked me to count and i said no you do it....
He said one, twooooo and i went ‘three’ to encourage... the bird stopped like id smacked him and said ‘aren’t you a liar then’.

I do not know where this bird is picking phrases up from now but he brightens my day, sweet potatoes in my hair or not haha!

What a beautiful orange wing 😍 so sorry to hear about your grey!
