Spirit and Storm

Spirit (on the left in both pictures) was a female cinnamon Green-Cheeked Conure. Storm was a male turquoise. They died unexpectedly in December 2022, after less than seven months of us owning them.

They ate almost any vegetable or fruit that we offered. When they were inside their cage, they liked to carry ball toys around. Or use a rope perch to hang in different positions. They gave us a lot of joy and laughs in a short time.

How very sad. Did they die on the same day? I'm just wondering if you got to to the bottom of it and whether it was something in the atmosphere harmless to humans but lethal for birds?

Yes, they died on the same day. It was not something in the atmosphere. I would rather not say what happened in this post. I don't want to invite shaming and condescending comments. Some people are too perfect to ever have a pet die on their watch. I don't think most users of this forum would behave that way, but it happens on others.

They were our first birds, before we owned any of our current flock. We have more experience now.

Ah, unfortunately things can happen. I don't think any regular users on here would say anything inappropriate.
