Slicing corn on the cob

Does anyone know an alternative way to cutting it up in slices which is how I give to my parrots. For years hubbys done it with a knife but now with arthritis in wrists it is too painful. I tried using electric carver which splattered it everywhere including all over my specs so that idea won't work! They do love their fresh corn on the cob and holding it to eat.

I get a t-towel lay corn on cob on that place knife where I want it throw another old t-towel on top and smack the knife with my meat tenderiser works and stops splatter but always open to new ideas if anybody has one?

Alternatively you can buy them pre-cut

Thanks yes I also do buy the cobettes either those or the full sized ones depending what's on offer, but they still need to be sliced again after all my parrots are smallies now. And they prefer them uncooked!
Just wondering whether there a slicing machine available that would do the job, without taking my fingers off that is.

Could do with one of those old guillotines we had at school for slicing up card .... the ones with the handle that came downwards

Good idea  hubbys got one of those, he won't like it being used for that but.......

You can buy some vegetable scissors supposedly as sharp as a guillotine. @dianaT I have some, remind me tomorrow to test them, never have done yet.

I bought one of these Japanese hand made by craftmen choppers for cutting up frozen meat. it looks like the type in dizzy/s photo, with out the block. it is so sharp I keep it separate to the rest of the kitchen tools and always boxed slices corn on the cob with ease.

Thanks for the ideas, at the moment I like the Billies Tong chopper....will have to start saving and probably knowing me will need chain mail gloves!
