I'm really stuck guys need pics links etc. I want to make a sleeping area for CAG, Amazon size birds in my aviary but not sure what to make other than a massive bird box lol. It gets fairly windy here so needs to keep the birds happy but not make them fruity by having a nest box. Need ideas advice cheers

I have a large box / cupboard shaped roosting ...was going to say box but I could happily climb inside its that flipping big it ..... stands on what used to be a tall table frame ….
Floor to ceiling its about 6.5ft high! Approx 3.5ft deep. Legs (about 3ft high with box on top) legs inset underneath so no mice can climb them and gain entry to roosting box with plastic upside down cones (used to be family sized lemonade bottles) slid on to them open side downwards just in case! Flipping do my head in do mice!
Sloped roof front to back to ensure nothing can be on top like water, mice or anybody deciding to nest where I can't reach.
Full sized double front doors (side hinged) with a central post to bolt door closed into - makes it easier for me to gain access especially for cleaning and daytime ability to be an extra hang out place out of the heat for the birdies. One side is always locked the other always clipped open unless the weather is particularly bad to compensate for locking in in really bad weather it has a bulk head light inside with metal grill covering and a tube heater at the bottom with a shelf over the top so can heat the place if necessary. Inside for perching I have three perches that run full length of the box left to right at different off set levels to allow birds to roost.

As I only keep my birds indoors I just have different sized nest boxes available in the bird room and living room

I bought a rather crappy 6x4 shed with an apex roof which I have insulated and painted wih a jungle green paint, and have created a full-height 48 inch square cage out of twelve gauge mesh within that. They gain access via a sliding hatch that leads out into the covered flight area. The shed window is covered with a painted board at night to provide security and to make sure the birds don't wake too early.

The perch they roost on is very high up, running along the apex roof section. Lower down there are various ropes and branches etc plus a swing feeder. I'll be installing lighting as the nights draw in as I've found they don't like entering a dark space late in the day (although they do love the shade during the midday period).
