Not sure what was just going on but server seemed to develop hiccups and all I got was that the site couldn't be found.
Came back after 5 minutes so not sure what's going on ......
If anybody else notices anything please let me know.

It was the same for me too!

I often have the What's New page open, which automatically refreshes. I sometimes get the "site unreachable" message, but it is very rare.

There's so much "stuff" between us and the website - so many bits that can go wrong. It could be as simple as someone accidentally stepping on a cable (or is that for hosepipes? ;))

Unless the website is fully load-balanced and is served from a facility that has full redundancy built in, there will be occasional outages. For example, restarts are often necessary to install security patches to the website, the web server, the platform that it runs on or the infrastructure that connects the server to the outside world. Sometimes things just fail and it is up to the facilitators to restart them.

It was sometime yesterday not in the evening, if it happens again I will make a note of it. I just thought it was a blip which happens now & then here & there.

@JackAndRob If I had understood anything of what you had said then I would more than likely agree.... I am no IT minded person unfortunately it kind of just goes whoosh goes over my head as it doesn't have a birdie in there lol

We have a package deal with a company here in the UK that runs our servers and does a daily back up etc if it continues will ask our IT Guru who runs the servers to have a nosy. I know we had to switch off TappaTalk as it was just doing as it pleased and was giving the software and security a flipping headache by trying to do things like join people to none existent areas of the forum.

So if peeps would kindly add to this thread if they suffer it dates times etc so we can monitor it and the issue persists I would be much obliged so we can try and get it sorted.

I have created/installed and run forums before, but not for a long time - I used to be the IT guy for the British Federation of Land and Sand Yacht Clubs (BFSLYC) but I am no longer a member of that organisation. I used servers located on the east coast of the USA and I still use those for my own email servers i.e. my email addresses are on domains that I own.

Obviously, I don't know the specifics of the systems used to provide this forum, other than the forum software is XenForo.
