well it another cloudy start but it is looking slightly better than the last few days flock got me up before first light, made more mess this morning but sorted out a few things. got some jet washing to do later (if my landlord goes out) as they do not like me using it too often and the less they notice the less they will complain. I have a pile of cages in bits to go through. I keep running out of bin space as I have got rid of so much and as soon as the bins get emptied I fill them up again. if you have nothing to do Yellowchickenparrot you can always come here and ill soon find a few jobs to do to stop you from getting board well morning Diana and all that follow

Morning Yellow Chicken Parrot and all to follow...

Its a bright morning here and a lot of sun is forecast. There will probably be a moderate westerly wind and no rain so all in all a fair day and a day where I could have the door open a good bit (except when the birds are out).

Both birds are fine but Roxy is taking longer than usual in getting used to 2 new toys I put in his cage. One is a natural wood swing and the other is a kind of pyramid thing that hangs and I have just seen him only 15 seconds ago, using it for the first time. This is good news. I have a new toy for Nacho as well but he will get that when he is out and about. The wild ones will be happy as I got my delivery of 25kg of Niger seeds, Christ, there's loads of them.

For some reason I feel extra good today both mentally and physically, its how it goes sometimes. If I do nothing else today I want to get rid of the leaves that have been making a mess of outside and its also time to prune the roses. I also wanna find someone that is pruning their apple trees and hope I can scrounge a couple of good branches with plenty of off shoots for the birds. I have just double checked the birds cages and the door is now going to be opened. Its a lovely day so why waste it. Of course the door will have to be closed and locked before the cages are opened. Will have a good bit of Trance music on throughout the day and if one B*****d mentions the swear word B**x*t I will just have to start singing. That has got to be more interesting than the crap we are hearing. Should get Noel Edmonds to negotiate for us, 'Deal or no Deal'.

Have a great Saturday Everyone, hope you all feel as good as I do today.

Cheers

Nigel

I find a hand held steam cleaner far more efficient for cage cleaning...you don’t waste water by it going everywhere and you aren’t weather dependent as can use inside.

even when I use the steam cleaner I have to use it outside as my birds are to nosy and I am frightened they will get hurt. its not often they will leave me alone no matter what I am doing. I normally soften using the steam cleaner and a quick jet wash is just as efficient as using a tooth brush to get into the nifty bits but so much quicker

Hello all, Shopping today but no matter where I looked no chillies or sugar snap peas for Dora. I wish I could find some new favourites for her but she soon tires of most things.
Have a good day and hope everyone manages to do all they set out to do.

Afternoon everyone
Dogs walked... carefully as Daisy is in season so try to avoid dog places but they had a good play with two female puppies!

Birds have had a bath, Phoebes chest had turned a dirty grey colour as she wont bath like Archie.
So she's had a spray and I gave her a small shallow dish to have a go at bathing in and bless her she had a try and enjoyed it!IMAG1864-1868x1401.jpg
Going to make them some dinner now as I think I have some sweet potato!

I am pleased you managed to catch up with the latest at the breakfast club, but I hope next time you go you can enjoy the breakfast as well, If Scobey is like most greys he will enjoy being soaked no matter who dose it . I would not be surprised if the Lung specialist will say about the dust from a parrot will not help you but will he take into consideration by having Scobey it is helping you more and making a great reason to fight and he keeps you smiling when you fill down, each are great reasons that non bird owners do not understand and apart from them Scobey is your family. Keep strong and hugs to all xx

Don’t get too hung up about them asking about animals and birds...but they should be asking about other possible, issues too.

This is quite a good summary of Hypersensitivity Pneumonitis.... of which the so-called “bird fanciers lung” is a type
https://foundation.chestnet.org/patient-education-resources/hypersensitivity-pneumonitis/

It is unlikely that one well looked after, carefully cleaned and cared for parrot is going to be a cause...it’s usually larger scale operations ...such as chickens and pigeons which cause issues because of feather particles and droppings.

It needs a formal diagnosis, not someone best guessing oh you have a bird that must be the problem.... especially as you’ve had your lung problems far longer than you have had Scooby for,

Do you have an air purifier?

Hi Michael im pmsl at that hahaha , when i receve a call names come up with people i know if a number comes up with someone i don't i take it out the room as Scooby has a habit of shouting hello . To be fair if they know i have Scooby it would be far simple to blame my baby boy and i won't give them the chance , if i lost Scoiby Doo my world would be torn apart even more i can't and won't let that happen Michael its only a little white lie to protect Scooby Doo anyone would do the same in my situation . I don't make a habit of lieing but my Scooby Doo is the only company i have when Tom is at work , i F10 his cage every day now change paper twice a day .

I know how you fill as I say Scobey is your family I think I would do the same. I do think that having a purifier may help you even if you did not have Scooby it may be worth while investing in one.
