Daisy loves 'Birdie Bangles' the cardboard chewie rings available from several outlets. Daisy loves chewing anything but with the Bangles she puts her head through the ring to start chewing. As a young bird she is still learning how to grip items with her feet so just chases them round her play area. Yesterday she got one of the small rings right over her head and could not get out, fortunately we heard her growling and extricated her before any harm could happen. If we had not been on hand what could have happened is unthinkable.
Dolly our privious BFA also loved these but as an older bird she was an accomplished destroyer of anything and they did not last long.
This is not a comdemnation of the product, just a warning that some birds could get into trouble. Happily there is a solution, we just cut the rings in half, Daisy can get her beak in easier to tear the card and we don't have to worry about her getting her head stuck.
