Thank you, I have a soft spot for turkeys having had to battle with one every morning as he was possessive of all the poultry on a smallholding I worked at..... always had to give him a gardening gloves to ravage while I got on with cleaning and feeding.... most days it took 3 gloves which I gathered up at the finish.

Great photos thank you. Are they Humboldt Penguins? Many many years ago when we visited I think it was Exmoor Zoo which was up for sale, there was a very friendly one there that latched on to us and our picnic! Followed us all around on our visit even into the cafe, where the lady shooed him out, said he frequented many visitors!

Thank-you, Diana. Yes, they are. My first visit to Exmoor was in 2000 and the penguins were still able to wander at will at that point but not a few years later. I haven't been since 2012 but in 2016 the zoo lost its whole colony to avian malaria as did a few other places (Flamingo Land was hit but some birds survived). I'm not aware of any seaside collections having had an outbreak; my theory is the fresher air maybe deters mosquitos.
