Rehome or aviary?

Hello All, I would like to ask for your opinion in the following: last summer I "rescued" a kakariki from local pet shop. I know this is not always a best move but could not leave him there in a tiny cage ( I would not put my finches in such small cage), only sunflower seeds in front of him..
So bought him home , and also found a friend for him. But unfortunately my conures are mad at them , can not see the chance to let them out together which means shorter out time for everyone. They are not tame at all, I use to wait until they got back into the cage and close them but sometimes it is just a crazy think. They jump out of the cage if notice someone is coming close even if they are in their food bowl digging, they are just super fast. So after a few attempt to get them back to cage it start going crazy and and need to chase them. Which of course is not good but of course can not let them out all night.
I am thinking to built an aviary outside for them- but we have a quite small shared backyard with neighbours. Everyone has their own space there but no fence and neighbours need to go through our place to get in their garage...also front gate is always open so not really private and I will be worried to leave them outside for the night.
Would be hard to say I need to re-home them as love them but maybe that would be the best for them to find a nice big aviary where they can explore and be themself.

Oooo interesting hmmm how about a drop down sheet in the middle of the aviary you already have so that they can be out but separated?
Can't quite figure out why the kaks aren't standing their ground against the conures though. That's most strange. My kak's stand their ground against my cockatiels when they have mad batty half hours of flying around like they are on fire.
If you choose to rehome double check the place they are intended for once rehomed or sold you no longer have a say in what will happen to them ie they could get sold on as cage birds etc unless you can find somebody you trust and who is like minded to you.

Kakariki's are very intelligent sooooo what about training them to go into the cage with target training and rewards would enable you to have them out in the house for extra exercise?
Our Roz on here is excellent fully qualified trainer and she's done some great threads on how to do things.
Will tag her and see what thoughts she has.

@Roz

I personally think that this species should only be kept in aviaries, as they need to be able to fly around a decent size area. I have seen many of these kept in cages, on there own and most of the time extremely overweight. If they were my birds I would 100% keep them in a aviary and give them the best possible care I could, and sit back and enjoy there natural beauty and behaviours.

I do think the Kaks are usually more satisfied and happier in a big aviary. Depending on the size of the garden ofcourse, a aviary would be really beneficial for them.

Roz is a excellent trainer and might be worth speaking to her if you have certain ideas and plans to keep the bird.

thanks, I see how much they love to be outside and enjoy foraging in the grass,,etc. so probably will look for aviary for them. Will choose carefully and make sure they got better care than I can provide at the moment.

Sorry to hear your contemplating rehoming to an aviary elsewhere

@Wakizashi21 you have the wrong end of the stick as they say.
just feel this is best for them- I was considering this for a long time now ...lets see how it goes.
@Widor Woah thats lovely! Just the best you can manage given the space....and watch how they develop.
sorry maybe my English caused the misunderstanding here, will look for an aviary elsewhere as we do not have too much space and our garden is not really secure
