    Hi Waki
Please can we go ahead with you taking in Levi? If so, how do you want to do this? Where abouts in Birmingham are you located? We can come on Wednesday if you are free. Also, is there a standard gifting template letter I could use?
    Regards
    Carol

    @Carol Firth @Wakizashi21
This is a link to the official government form that has to be filled in to cover the transaction its a gifting certificate form.
    https://assets.publishing.service.g...s/attachment_data/file/567015/form-wlrs02.pdf
Both of you need to fill in details and both of you need to keep a copy of it. the original owner to the new owner and a copy of all paperwork stays with the bird so if the bird leaves Wakizashi21's care to live else where another form has to be filled in between himself and the new place and a copy of the original paperwork plus new paperwork to link that the bird is transferring again and can be traced back to yourself Carol

    Hi DizzyBlue

I have printed off two copies of the form. I take it both myself and Waki complete the form when we meet. Do I send off the form for filing to the address on the form or does Waki? Is this all we need to complete?

    Regards
    Carol

    Hi Carol
You both keep a copy and the original goes off to the address at the top for their records
And that is all you need to complete make sure leg ring details or chip details are clearly stated etc.
Would be good to make sure that Waki has your vet details so that his vet if ever needed knows who has the birds medical records should they ever been needed, vets are required by law to transfer animals medical records between practices if requested and should an animal be registered elsewhere its good to know what has been discovered before and it is free of charge.... rather like human medical records following you around wherever you go :)

    Hi DizzyBlue

Many thanks for the information. Fortunately we have never had to take Levi to the vets :). We are really going to miss :emoji_sob: but we do think it is in the best interests for Levi. Plus he will have the company of other birds :budgie::Lovebird:.

    Thanks
    Carol

A very difficult decision to make but you have Levi's best interests at heart, huge hugs to you x
