I have been in a conversation with a few other members about Roger, and I posted this the other day and I realise that I should update on this thread too -
“Just to update - was chatting to my sister-in-law (who has a grey) and she has a friend who has been interested in her parrot and this person is interested in taking him. She is very local to us and we are going to have a talk to her about whether re-homing Roger to her is a possibility. It would mean my Mum and Dad could pop in and see him every now and again and 'keep in touch'.
Obviously this is a new situation that has arisen today, and if it doesn't work out, I hope the offers from here will still be open, and I thank you for your support.”

Meeting these people later this week.

Hi Nicky...it's good to hear that you may have found a local new home for Roger and that your mum and dad can keep in contact...ai'm sure offers placed here will still be on the cards should this not work out. Fingers crossed for you.

Thanks Lelly, but Imhappy to report that it looks like it’s going to be a happy ending for Roger. A couple came to look at him last night and they are experienced with a variety of birds, and he seemed to be ok when S came over to talk to him and even let her give him a little stroke.
They took him last night and sent these pics when they got him home.
Thank you again for all the offers of help, but I am very hopeful that this will be a good match.

is he rehomed as yet?. Ive had an African Grey since I was 3 years and recently moved to the UK from the Middle East and had to leave her there with my family as my dad didn't want me to move her to the UK where he thought itd be much colder.
    im 38 by the way.

Hi @Avalon and :welcome: so sorry to hear that you have had to leave your girl back home. There are CAG's out there that need good homes so don't despair, some just need a foster or temp safe house. Are you in the UK for good or do you intend to return to the Middle East asap?
