Poorly Jaffa

Dear little chap not been himself recently, sleeping a lot, feeling cold when he comes on me, eating okay, poop not too bad (they eat a lot of fruits) so have given him Guardian Angel which has helped, but still sleeping more and not his usual feisty self. Also I think he's lost some weight.

So phoned vet Billa for a chat this morning who said bring him down so off I went with him.
This is the first time in his 22yrs he's needed to see a vet.

After a lengthy chat about him she anaesthetised him in his carrier so I am pleased I took him in that and not the travel cage one.
He had bloods, x ray, throat swap(cannot remember the proper name) naturally he obliged with poo, she tried to cover it all under one anaesthetic as said if the bloods don't show anything it would mean another anaesthetic to do x ray. She showed us xrays but needs to study them, unsure if liver may be slightly enlarged. He only weighs 112g & Sennies are usually from 125-170or thereabouts so although eating is losing weight.

One of the nurses was warming him up with some sort of warm air thing into his carrier as he came round.

I will get a phone call re results probably tomorrow.

So a worrying time here.

I am so sorry Jaffa is poorly, get well soon handsome boy. I hope the test come back all is ok.I am thinking of you both, Sending you hugs Diana xx

Diana I am wishing that he will be fine I will say he is in good hands and I know you must be worried. they are strong birds my Terry had a little time of this problem last year but he soon got back to his normal self they never found out what caused it and when I checked his weight last week he was a healthy weight of 149g he went down to 111g Terry is 22 year old as well

Thoughts are with Jaffa @dianaT and hope he improves soon. I wonder how relevant the weight is because with my two which have never been weighed Nacho must be 40% heavier than Roxy and that is how they have always been.

I hope tomorrows results are a positive.

Thank you everyone, I am so worried, he is busy eating again then sleeps after, I am keeping him warm & not much else I can do until we get results.
He was the first Senegal I hand reared & been with me all his life.

I was reading this whilst I was at the vets sat waiting poor Jaffa.
Hopefully nothing serious and just needs a bit of spoiling and something to perk him up.
Hugs to him from me x

Thanks he's out at the moment sitting on my shoulder reading this and warming up, soon be bedtime so I expect he will eat again once he is back in.

As long as he is doing his moderator job and keeping an eye on us lot all is well with the world :emoji_revolving_hearts:

Sending healing thoughts for Jaffa and hugs to you, Di. Hope he will be ok. :emoji_revolving_hearts:

Jaffas been sleeping all morning on the bottom of his cage, have now got him out & he's on my shoulder but had nodded off again already, I am so worried, but what can I do, just wait for results & keep him warm.
It's like he's wasting away.

Have you been in touch with the vets @dianaT and updated them? They can do crop feeds until the results are in? Maybe even start some meds?

So sorry, come on fella we are all rooting for you. xx
