Interesting NY Times article about a study that was done to enable parrots to video chat. Just thought I'd share it. I'm not sure if you need to be subscribed to NY Times or not. If so, perhaps you can look it up online, the study was run by Rebecca Kleinberger from Northwestern University, Ilyena Hirskyj-Douglas from the University of Glasgow, and Jennifer Cunha also from Northwestern University. The article is written by Emily Anthes.
The study was designed to find out if parrots would find mental stimulation and social connection via video calls. They enrolled 18 parrots and taught them how to request a video chat and choose which friend to talk to. The results were pretty amazing! I'm going on vacation in a few weeks and this article makes me think it may be very beneficial to FaceTime with my Nel-Bird!
