in this unfortunate case...... rat poison

A very sad case involving Lorikeets at a zoo.

Posting here to draw attention to both house and aviary bird owners......we humans do use a large number of products in and around our homes that can prove fatal to our birdie companions....... do take care with what you use, how you use it, and if employing "professionals" that you check what they are using too.

Unbelievable that they called in outside pest controllers at a Zoo.Also they let them poison in underground tunnels where birds can get to or rats can come up from.Where do these people come from? The fact is thet these birds do not pair for life also if 1 partner dies then the other will usually try to keep the babies alive.Possibly this is another attack by the Animal Rights group who have got there facts wrong again.I do hope so.
