Roz you must be shattered can only ponder how much hard work your putting in to doing such a brilliant job of everything :besos:

Thanks, Tascha! Was a bit worried this morning. Up another 2gms which is great, to 329gms. But not that hungry and not as many poops through the night. Was so worried that his crop might be becoming impacted/food not passing through quick enough. Lay off feeding him for the afternoon. Thankfully hungry-ish tonight. Thinking maybe I should make the feeds a little wetter.

329gms was the highest Ollie reached. Since then it has been a slow descent down again. Today he was at a low of 312gms. From 10 porridge/formula feeds a day he gradually fell to about 5 feeds. My thinking was that he was getting bored of the same old meal day in day out. So have been researching in a couple of places what solid food he could try eating.

On Monday I cooked some whole short grain rice and grated carrot and he seems to have taken to it. I've tried mashed squash and sweet potato - not that keen. Cooked a little chopped peeled pear with a sprinkling of cinnamon - he ate a little. Today I give him some hard boiled egg and cous cous. The egg went down well but not the cous cous. To each solid meal I'm adding a few drops of flax oil, probiotics and digestive enzyme. He seemed happier today and ate more. He's now eating about 3 - 4 feeds of porridge/formula which I add his meds to. Trouble is he now won't eat on his own. I have to hold the food bowl or spoon for him. Tonight I called him over and he started eating from the bowl himself... but not for long!

Just before bed, I usually do a training session with the birds. Ollie wanted a piece of digestive biscuit! He actually ate it so must be feeling better. Fingers crossed for the next weigh in.

:hearts1:Ollie gorgeous as ever:hearts1:

Ok so is it going to be digestive biscuit binging Ollie? Are you holding out for the really yummy stuff? I would have had a total meltdown by now and let him have anything he fancied no idea how you keep it together Roz. :no idea:

You need to eat for mummy (and the rest of us) and stop worrying us like this don't think I can take many more grey hairs,

You certainly are trying every foods you can think of to tempt dear Ollie, as you say he probably got bored with the same old meal.
He is so lucky to have you caring for him.

Thanks so much, everyone. Tascha, I have shed so many tears and had so many melt downs, but in the end I have to just get on with it for Ollie's sake. We're taking it one day at a time.

... does he like hob nobs?

I think Hobnobs are going to be too knobbly, Wendy! Too full of fibre. I saw a few bits in his morning poop, so I am wondering if even a smooth digestive biscuit was not a good idea. Bobbie (Red-lored Amazon) loves Hobnobs!

Well, he put on one gram this morning - better than losing!

Even though he is unwell, and not feeling great at all, he's still getting the best possible service from his butler. Good on you, Ollie!

Ollie is getting weaker. His lowest weight a few days ago was only 251gms. Today he was 255gms. He's not far off Kobe's weight. He can't really fly any longer... even climbing is difficult for him. I carry him where he wants to go. He sleeps a lot of the day. His new place to sit is on a box at the front door in the sun. It's a two storey appartment with Kobe taking the first floor...

He eats his breakfast on the top floor too. This is an additional breakfast of cooked mash, sprouts and a little fruit like mango or papaya. He usually eats some of the cooked mash and maybe sprouts only.

Otherwise he eats formula...
