Please hold a good thought for Ollie

He had 3 small teaspoons of the formula for breakfast. Ate the Celebrex which was hidden in the first spoon. He also put on 6gms!!! Up from 316gms two days ago to 322gms this morning. The vet is coming to visit him on Wednesday.

Plumsmum, before now he hasn't really liked sweet things... but the Recovery Formula is quite sweet and he's eating that.

Dizzyblue I have baby porridge for him that he likes.

Scott199 the Feast Eggfood looks good! The probiotics are a big plus!

God bless him, keep it up Ollie :hug:Hang in there hun you're doing marvellous. x

I have a biggish bag of the normal parrot feast one, I’ll happily fill a zippy bag or air tight tub and send it over for you to try him with ?

Good on you Ollie, keep it up, your Mum is a superstar and fighting your corner amazingly x

Thank you, @Sauropod8 How is Pico doing?

Fingers crossed Ollie keeps his strength up!❤
Pico is doing well at the moment, he was back up to his "healthy" weight of 82g this morning. He is still eager to have his safflower seeds as his preferred treat and we havent seen them undigested in his poop again yet. I would say he is stable? We give him his 0.02ml of Celebrex and his probiotic each day.

Ollie is now only 307gms. But after 2 days of eating very little, he was hungry today and has been eating well: cooked mash, Harrisons Recovery Formula and baby's porridge, all with Celebrex and Gabapentin added. So fingers crossed the scales go up tomorrow.

Just wondering hun if there is a pattern here? Ollie fills up, has a good feed then back to little or none for a while. Would little and often help to feed him and help his internal system cope better? Just a thought, love and hugs x

Thank you for asking. Ollie was losing weight at an alarming rate. On Wednesday he reached only 301gms. Wednesday, the vet also came to see him. The vet isn't avian but it was an excellent visit. We discussed the pros and cons of different meds and euthanasia. Thankfully the euthanasia can be done at home if it becomes necessary in the future. He suggested adding oil to Ollie's feeds to increase the calories and also suggested trying CBD oil which can be helpful to autoimmune diseases. So from that afternoon, I have been adding 2 drops of Flax oil to each of Ollie's feeds and giving him one drop of CBD oil a day. It has been working so well that Ollie's weight is now rising as fast as it had been falling. Today he was up to 318gms!!!
I am making what I call a "Super Porridge." :tmnt: To his Organix baby porridge I am mixing in Emeraid, Harrison's Recovery Formula, and 2 drops of Flax oil (anti-inflammatory Omega 3). Ollie has numerous feeds thoughout the day and to each of them I am adding one or two of the following: Celebrex (anti-inflammatory), Gabapentin (nerve pain), CBD oil, Milk Thistle (liver), DMG (immune system), Vits & Mins, MGN-3 (immune system), St John's Wort (antiviral) and Echinacea (antiviral). Trying to add probiotics, but strangely he leaves half if I add them. Prozyme (digestive enzyme) turns the Super Porridge slimy so I am going to try sprinkling a little on top. Just ordered some Astragalus (immune system and gut flora) powder which I shall also be adding.

Ollie isn't eating any "normal" food at all now. Only the Super Porridge every hour or so.

Im glad he has managed to regain some weight. Thats great to hear. Hes been on my thoughts. I was reading about CBD oil and parrots the other day. I used to use it for my anxiety and to help with sleep but I didnt know that it was something parrots could also benefit from
