Pet insurance - BPI

I ended up going with exotic direct 5,000 of cover for £28 a month for Oscar the hahns macaw an reggie the orange winged amazon.

I'm so sorry to hear about Frankie, and it's wonderful to hear that British Pet Insurance (BPI) handled the claims efficiently and with empathy during such a tough time. Pet insurance can be a lifesaver when unexpected health issues arise. Thanks for sharing your experience and recommending BPI.

We’ve had a tortoise for over 50yrs !! When I was a child my mum and dad brought me and my three sisters one each from the local pet shop. Dad made a large run in the garden. One by one 3 died over the space of several years but one remains and still lives with Mum and Dad . It’s an outdoor tortoise not like nowadays where you have a heated tank etc. In the spring when it wakes it comes out free walking in their garden and dad always puts it to bed in its box at night in the shed , then out again in the morning. For hibernation it’s put in a cardboard box with holes in sides with straw on top and sealed and put back in shed till spring ( or we hear it moving around ). Although we’ve had it so long it was never really given a specific name , we just call it “ tortie “ . It loves strawberries, dandelions, lettuce, cucumber and tomatoes. When Mum and Dad had a cat it use to enjoy the cat food as well !!!
