Got these today but I'm not sure if Brazil nuts are ok I tried googling it in the shop it came up as ok but there was lots of threads saying they are bad?
Brazil nuts form a part of many of my birds diet in the shell for my Senagal's and macaws one a day for my amazons during winter and one twice a week for the greys. Buster my GSC2 has three a week in the shell and Joey LSC2 has one a week. others get half I week and I crush them for some of the parakeet's. Walnuts are most of my birds favourite nut the bigger birds get them in the shells and the smaller birds in a half opened shell. my macaws do get two each a day in the shell. even the red rumps and my love birds love walnut but they have to work for the nut this is why I try to leave them in the shell. I do limit nut intake and use them in training but I like to buy them separately keeping to a non nut parrot feed (J&J lean and fit) on the dry feed side of there diet. Walnuts are also well liked and restricted on use
Caution if you feed walnuts in shell, to ensure that you buy from a good supply, and check for any mould on the shelf, as being not smooth surface can harbour aspergillosis.
