Newbie

You should see Sunday dinner in my house :risas3:
Three of my greys are chicken mad and both of my amazons would kill for a bit of chicken. they all also get the veggies but if you feed any of your veggies to your bird make sure that you never cook with salt. Parrots can't get rid of it like we can so it leads to all sorts of issues with it being retained.
Some people allow their birds to have a little cooked chicken (don't feed any red meat) and others don't …. it can be a very controversial subject and people do get somewhat passionate about it. For me I think like this …. a little bit now and again isn't going to harm in the wild if a caterpillar walked past it would be snaffled up as a nice spot of fast protein and parrots will scavenge from time to time if they come across something ….
Other people like which is their right to do so feel differently about it. :)

Hello and :welcome: form me and my crew. It is wonderful that Clive chose you and sounds very happy. Are you familiar with safe and poisonious foods, wood, household appliances? Some dreadful accidents happen so please do check this out. Questions we love questions and there is never a daft question! :)

I'm aware that woods can be harmful aktho admittingly not sure which, so i would not introduce any to clive yet. Ive read alot about their diets and what foods are a deffo NO! NO!. So im hoping in time this forum and you friendly lot are going to guide me . As regards appliances, he wont ever be near any. He's never unsupervised.

I assumed salt would be a deffo NO! NO!. so he wont ever get anything with that on. Im happy to share my veg with him as we always steam ours. Im glad ive not done wrong giving him a little chicken. Id hate to take this treat away from him as he loves it.

Just remember though anything can be bad even the good stuff if it's fed in excess :) moderation and a good dollop of common sense is usually what gets us all where we want to be in the end

Oh and if it looks like this … there's probably something wrong with it

Hi Steve and welcome. I had a double yellow head a couple of years from a charity, loved me and cooooddd like a baby. Wife he couldn't stand, unfortunately had to re home him after 18 months as I just work too long hours and don't like parrots in cages any longer than necessary. Really sad day I drove him 150 miles up to his new home, he was in his cage next to me happy as Larry. I had a definite tear in eye

Thats so sad. But the same circumstancces as my mate. My mate loves Clive and it broke him to make the decision to part with him. But his new job and new hours just dont suit. Clives out the cage as soon as i get home at 2.30 until i go to bed at 9pm. Hes actually on ne now eating his tea.

If you email the pictures to yourself then they will shrink to forum size. when posting them click the more options button and your screen reply post will fill the screen. Do your typing and then hit the return button so you end up underneath the sentence you just posted Then hit the upload a file they come out better as a jpeg for some reason but think that's cos we need to load some updates into the software on site - anyways if you look at the top of the list of files then it will say post full size it's an icon looks like a lot of little squares on top of each other hit that and they will be full size on the forum :) easier for peeps to see think it lets you do 5 pictures to each post

And as Diana says we loooove piccies
