That sounds great :emoji_hatched_chick: fingers crossed.... the best Avian vet in the area is Great Western Exotics in Swindon...they have 4 Avian specialists there and 24x7 emergency cover.

We pick her up on Monday, my hubby is working up in the Midlands on Monday so he can collect her for me. :budgie:
She will be 14 weeks old, what food should she be eating, what is best I can give her. The owner said she love pomegranate. I will be asking lots of questions as I have never had a baby parrot before. :emoji_heartpulse:

    Great news :)

Pomegranate is excellent....just beware they can splatter the juice so beware of any soft furnishings in range!

Check what the breeder is feeding at the moment, as it would be best to replicate that to start with, so that the youngster doesn't get too much change at once. You can modify and mix in a change of seed or whatever over a few weeks.
You'll find lots of info in our food and diet section on fruits and begs and there is a thread with parrot recipes somthings you can make.

I'll tag in @pally again...as he will know what's best as a base diet for Caiques

Ha whos excited, well your a quick mover.food food and more food, these little buggers never stop eating maybe thats why they are so hyper.
i think the things they shouldnt eat should come first.eg advacado, chocolate ,salty sugary foods, processed foods, onions, mushrooms,im losing track now but im sure @DizzyBlue can blow your mine with these facts.
caiques are huge fruit eaters, mine tend to avoid their greens so i blend them up and drizzle it over their fruits and it goes down a treat.caiques will give almost anything ago.mine get the above plus pellets, top quality seed mix,egg food with dried shrimp mixed with sweetcorn, not tinned.cooked meals are offered daily or more during breeding eg pasta and rice meals mashed sweet potato.oh the list us endless and fun to find new recipes to offer .oh and mine will do anyting for walnuts...top training aid.
the sad fact is that my flock eat far better than i do,but when you hear them tuck in to a good meal and they purr and grumble on while eating then im a happy
    Daddy.
im excited myself for you @rita1 ha x

thank you for all the well wishes and advice. i have given my husband loads of question to ask the breeder, i wish i could have the time off work myself. i have bought a bag of mixed parrot food with fruit and nuts, also some mixed seeds, and fresh fruit.
he said he does not have the DNA paper work as it's not come through, so i was wondering how he knows it's a female. i am bothered what sex it is, i will probably get one done myself so that know for when i get my other caique. we will have to wait and see. went out and got some more toys today. :budgie:

My Caique gets AS30 seed mix from Scarlett's, no sunflower no peanut mix

You can use sites like Scarlett's parrot essentials, northern parrots, can't remember the others I'm sure someone else will mention them

These sites are great for ordering food, treats, toys, perches, anything!

Walnuts and sun flower seeds are great treats
