Unfortunately it is survival of the fittest in nature, and probably for reasons that we don't even understand at the moment.

I going to be watching those with fewer eggs and still be praying for a better outcome as even those are not guaranteed but it's one less factor

Haven't looked at these boxes for well over a week or two. I glad to report that Guayabon box has two chicks in it, just been watching them being feed by the hen.
@DanAndMarley chick (at least one) in the Pochote nest as well

I didn't see the chicks in Pochote, thought the hen was still sitting on the eggs. All looking good so far.
Head count so far...
Two empty boxes and one off line as before.
Panama one newly hatched chick one egg
Pochote two huge chicks!
Guayabon two chicks no sign of the third egg
Bajo first chick hatched a couple of hours ago and one egg
Alto three eggs but one looks damaged....

@ALW click on the link then on the nest box cam colour during their day time (our night time) and black white during their night (which is our day time)If a anyone is interested, the scarlet macaws are starting to show interests in nesting again, haven't seen any eggs yet, but adult pairs are using the boxes.

Pochote, two new eggs. It amazing how quickly these chicks are growing in the nest boxes.
If a anyone is interested, the scarlet macaws are starting to show interests in nesting again, haven't seen any eggs yet, but adult pairs are using the boxes.

See the link to Ron Ron box that wasn't working has gone completely now .... great I don't have to keep looking and thinking oopsy forgot that wasn't online lol.
Alto ... snoggy preening two adults going on and egg in view to the side .... I feel like a peeping tom!!
Bajo two adults also snoggy preening and two very small chicks in view
Guanacaste empty nothing in there at all
Guayabon two adults trying to sleep and two huge chicks in view
Pochote its like flipping sardines in there two adults and two whopper sized chicks with pin feathers starting to sprout from their wings
Panama needs an X rating put on it!!! Naughty noodles going on in there two adults fair made me blush oh and can see a broken shell but nothing else

There certainly growing fast.
Just taken some snap shots..... Not looking good .....
Alto nest box
One egg being brooded one egg is cast aside and one broken one...... Looking like inexperienced nesters perhaps that one will hatch.
Bajo nest box
Looking like tragedy. A large chick and a smaller chick and one dead chick which is really small
Just having watched for a while the smallest living chick doesn't look like its going to make it either it's begging but she's not feeding it just the larger chick.
Guayabon
One discarded egg hiding under the wing of the top left chick but those two chicks are equal in size and look at those pin feathers!!

Flipping huge chicks hardly room for mum to be in there as well

One huge chick and one very small chick and also an egg still being brooded does keep getting hidden by the pile of bodies but its there

Parents are now sitting in the Alto box, so will watch to see what happens.
And the baby count goes like this....
Alto... two eggs?!?!?! not sure what's going on there!
Bajo - sorry weird picture as the two in there are spread out so you get a bum and half the other chick lol but feathers looking pretty darn good
Guayabon - Huge chicks!!
Pochote - MAHUSIVE chicks!! both dozing in the heat by the looks of it.
Panama - More medium sized chicks but two real crackers

@DanAndMarley that top egg in the Alto nestbox does it look like it's got a flat side??? Or is it a shadow???
