we was just doing birds medication which he has through a syringe and as e was moving it was all shot down too quick and he looks like he’s having a really hard time getting it down and looks like it’s coming back up but throthy what should I do I’m really worried ?!

@XjadeX can you see my instruction you need to call the vets urgently right now if its gone down the windpipe its extremely serious and can be life threatening ring your vet straight away

Thank goodness, do keep us up to date on him, dear little chap. Maybe you could encourage him to drink it off a tiny spoon and add some fruit juice so it tastes nice ?

We have honestly tried everything and he won’t just take it unfortunately we have to force him : ( we add fruit juice in the syringe but it’s the only way we can do it. We can stop the medication on Monday tho so it’s not much longer now

Mix the meds with Ribena cordial you also it can be a lot easier with a spoon than a syringe.
Do you know what grapefruit spoon looks like?
You can make one if the spoon is stainless steel using a hammer to roll the edges of the spoon. then its basically a case of you can hold little one gently and trickle it into the mouth from the side of the beak but usually with Ribena cordial they will take it like being fed / hand reared gently pop the tip of the spoon under the beak and slowly and gently push upwards bird will naturally raise its head (obviously don't go too far back) and as the head goes up the upper mandible will lift and a gap will appear between it and the lower mandible and in it trickles. Some times if they have been spoon reared then they will just clamp their beaks on and start to try and get it themselves.

Glad to hear little one is ok from earlier and don't knock yourself up about it you didn't do it intentionally accidents do happen
So chin up smile firmly in place and onwards and upwards
