John the Head Keeper at Sewerby Zoo has rung me this evening with a bit of bad news. Jess the keeper who cared for Myfanwy at home when she had psittacosis found her dead this morning, believed killed by the Scarlet Macaws. The remaining Amazons have been moved to another aviary. It's a shame it's ended like this but she did have some good years at Sewerby other than the illness, and these things happen.

Thank-you, everyone. When the macaws arrived John was told they had lived with Amazons previously so should be okay but they appear to have gone into breeding mode and become aggressive. It's perhaps ironic that I had just adopted them for an old school friend as the Red-masked Conures I had previously adopted had left the collection.
