Making foraging toys

I use old toilet/kitchen rolls, (just be careful as some posh ones have lots of glue, first time in my life being a cheap skate has benefited :) some say its bad but ours never eats any, I put a nut or two in, fold the ends over like a present and hand it to him, he spends quite a bit of time ripping it apart to find the nuts inside, you may need to leave ends open to start with to show them its in the middle.

I've started to double them up by putting one inside the other so its more of a challenge.

Ooo will give this a go too. Just trying to find things to occupy him a bit more as he doesnt have free fun of the house. He comes out twice a day x

Also one of these is handy to have, can put loads of stuff on it, little boxes full of treats, bell peppers with holes and treats in, the little present thing I do.

If you're using an egg box just so nobody gets confused it should be a cardboard one not plastic or the polystyrene type. Know can more than likely stating the obvious but never hurts to make sure peeps don't take unnecessary risks with their birdies
Yes the cardboard egg box you get x

I use these for my grey Bo. At first he loved destroying them and now he is too smart and bites holes in the bottom of it to get the treats out haha!

I have a great selection of them and fill them with shredded paper then loads of goodies wrapped in more paper to make it extra hard for him. Sometimes i will tie some empty toilet roll holders to the bottom with additional goods in and he loves them!
He has many foraging toys made for parrots and he enjoys these much more!
I don't put veg in mine as he doesn't enjoy foraging for his fruit and veg so would just leave it or waste the veggies.

They are fun to make also and we enjoy making them together! 😊

I am a bit jealous of you all, Dusky is scared of boxes and will only approached and kill them when they are on the floor, which means other birds can get to them before him. I use the little paper bags and drop his treats in and fold up, he loves these and tonight when I was in a muddle because of Chorley coming home I just gave him a nut, unwrapped, he threw it on the floor..
