Ok so maybe a slight exaggeration (yes you can move this thread )
but after only 8 short months we’ve had a proper breakthrough, the first time Bert has stepped up of his own accord, we’ve managed before but it’s always been last choice for him, stuck or had no choice, never, ever in or in the cage.
Few days ago he touched it with his beak, yesterday he touched it with his big toe
Today a foot and then two and then a little walk along, thank you Roz and all.
I know it’s not much but this is the first time he’s done it through choice. I’ve learnt it has to be rock solid, the slightest mm move and he’s gone, so I had my little finger trapped in his cage bar so even if I wanted I couldn’t move the perch a MM (downside I can’t actually feel my little finger now but oh so worth it)
