Afternoon all,
My parrotlet fifi appears to be leaning to one side when she is perching.
At the minute she is laying on eggs, she seems a little swollen as she is due to lay again but not egg bound etc. Yesterday we had a bit of a panic where she got an egg stuck to her and since then ive noticed if she is perching she is leaning to one side.
So, she is gripping correctly and firm, she is flying and landing not favouriting a foot, she is using both feet as normal and doesn’t appear to be in any pain/distress.. I have checked both her feet and she isn’t swollen and doesn’t have any sores or nail problems but when she gets off her eggs and perches she puts one leg up and leans the opposite direction.. this isn’t something ive noticed before..
She is eating and drinking absolutely fine, no signs of illness.. boyfriend questioned if it was because she is due to lay again and a bit swollen if it’s uncomfortable for her to sit straight..
I will happily take her to the vet if she needs to go, just thought id ask a bit of advice before the extra stress on her when she is laying..
She isn’t falling or unstable either just to add, she isn’t coming out much at the moment as she is dedicated to laying on the eggs that won’t hatch, poor girl!
