Is this normal?

Afternoon,
The past few days we've noticed out ringneck who is 15 weeks old, now doesnt want to know us unless we have a treat to give her. She'll do her own thing and wont come to our call unless we give her a treat. She used to come sit with us, land on us whilst we walk about. Now shes not fussed about us. This normal behaviour?

They can go through stages of not being so close, but I will say to still try to attract her too you, trying to keep her amused while she is on you and taking more notice talking to her and having small treats that she will only get when she lands on you and you can give her extra if she stays there a little while. I can say that quite often you may get a response if you are doing something that sounds interesting but your bird cannot see what you are doing, many birds are very inquisitive and will investigate.

I find a back pack brill when they are 'out of sorts' - it really lightens the mood. Birds seem to like routine btw, keep going hun, things are never set in concrete.

Thankyou all for your replies. Tonight Rio was her usual self! She flew to me without wanting a treat and was all over the children like normal. Happy mumma, lets hope it stays that way hehe
