Wellcome to the forum @David30, a mixed bunch here but some with loads of experience so someone will be along to advise. Whay is his nbame?

My SIL has just received a Conure, pineapple, green checked, cinnamon dilute, in other words a complete mixture that looks like it has been watered down. As she does not do the internet and he came untamed I will be watching this page with interest.

:welcome: what a gorgeous little Conure, does he/she have a name?
Plenty of advice under this training thread do have a look and ask if you are unsure. Our @Roz gives excellent advice. And I am sure other members will be able to help too. But as ever with a new birdie it is slowly does it and lots of patience needed.

His/her name is gecko my 4year old choose it lol yer I will have a look through the section. I try to work with him on and off so while he looks interested try to offer food I have managed to get him to feed from the bowl while I have been holding the bowl but won't touch food directly in my hand but for a bird on his 3rd day with me I can't complain just was seeing if anyone had tips to try encourage him a bit more to trust

Hiya and welcome to forum :)
Oooo wat till Essie sees that little sweetie @Stinkie
Will tag Roz in she's brilliant at the training thingy you should have a read of her training threads
This is the first thread you need to read through and get to grips with https://theparrotclub.co.uk/communi...rcers-and-how-to-identify-and-use-them.29149/ and until this one is sorted you don't move to the next one, time and patience some birdies take longer than others to understand what we're trying to explain we each have to learn the others language you learn birdie speak (vocal and body language combined) and they learn … we're easy to train as parrot slaves lol

Hello and welcome, Gecko looks lovely, I do not think you will have too much trouble in training as he/she will take food from you bowl while you are holding it already. Conures do not like to be on there own and normally will bond with there keeper.

:welcome: David and Gecko! He/she is a beautiful bird!! Wow - pretty good that he/she will eat from a bowl that you are holding already! Notice if you can what he goes for first in the food bowl... those will be his favourites that you can use later for training. What are you feeding him/her? Does he like vegetables and fruit... maybe carrot, broccoli, peas, blueberries, apple, pomegranate, etc? Try millet spray too - a favourite of a lot of birds. Are you feeding a seed mix? Which seeds is he picking out first? When you have discovered his favourite food, you can try offering them from your hand... or dropping them into the bowl he's already eating from.

Just take it slowly. You want to associate yourself and your family with wonderful experiences for him... and favourite foods is the way to go with an untame bird.

Hey thank you for all the welcomes and reply I know it will take time for both of us to get use to each other I was quiet shocked that he didn't fly away when I offered him the food in the dish :)

At the moment I can't see what he/she is taking as he won't eat unless he thinks I'm looking away so hard for me to see I'm currently feeding a fruity and seed parrakeet mix mixed in with a parrot/parakeet mix which he was fed on before buying I have tried carrots which he didn't take but he has been eating Apple and grapes so far I did put some orange in just before work but unsure if he ate any and havnt tried anything else yet and yes he has millet in cage and also has just started eating at that as well :)

Also any decent sites for reading there body language aswell as unsure what some of his body language may mean

Well he/she has now eaten from my hand he loves grapes and Safflower seeds I think they are feeling proud of this little bird specially when I was unable to work with him for 2days due to work they gf has tried to hand feed but he not interested
