Once you know she has learnt where her food is then open her cage, just act normally and see if she will come to you. not knowing the level of human contact but also trying not to make her fill like she has to do things like step up is very important. what can you tell us of her past.

Not much at all being perfectly honest apart from she was with another irn who was being rather bullying towards her she never moved from the cage or make any noise what so ever this is her second day with us she has been vocal eating and drinking well.

bullying can be a problem if other birds can see a weakness. She reminds me so much of a bird I took on in the past. my advice to you will be the same as I gave before. and that is make the outside of her cage as interesting as the inside, get her toys that she can climb and help her get from a to b, you need her to get her confidence back. if you can take a photo of her wings being open it may help me guide you on a program to stop future problems of plucking. it sounds as if she is happier already. I have quite a bit of experience with Ringnecks especially those in need.

I will do my best to try get one for u..I've got her cage close to the sofa so she can reach her cage no problems she still thinks she can fly like normal it's such a shame she's not been plucking as of yet I have and will be keeping an eye on that so it can be nipped in the bud. Just hoping I can work with her build her trust make her as happy as possible. Thanks again for the help and support!

As I say to all new keepers its not so much as building a trust with your bird but more about not loosing the trust you have gained. depending on how the wing feathers had been cut as these are strong flyers and even with feathers being cut I have known them to fly. I am hoping that the clipping was not done until recently.

I'm thinking they have been done recently what is best way to tell if the have been? I've just been sitting next to her talking to her I can put my hand in the cage just to give her a wee treat seems to love dark grapes she does move slightly closer to my hand to get it from me.

Love that you have found a favourite food already. That's so great that she moves slightly closer to your hand to get it. Keep going as you are doing.

Hopefully she should moult out some of the clipped wing feathers later this year.
