Lauraj, that's all you have to do with the paperwork, its the proof that the owner of the bird has acquired there bird from captive breeding stock and this paperwork should go with the bird. if for some reason you want to sell the bird or use the bird to make financial gain or even travel to other countries then you must be able to provide the paperwork either for inspection or to pass the bird and its paperwork on for monies. its not the owner that needs the paperwork it the bird. you are not only the person to care for your bird you are also the person to care for your birds paperwork . you do not have to inform or register the yourself but must be able to produce the documents to an authorized person if demanded
