Hi,

I may be getting back a hen from my aunt.
She wanted a male but accidentally was sold a female by the pet shop.

I said she could give me the extra hen back and if give her a male.

Out of curiosity, would you say my hen is a greywing pied or full body Greywing?
or is she not a grey wing at all?

These are last year's pictures.20200610_143457.jpgIMG_0994_kindlephoto-1677848.jpg

Do you have updated pictures at all and pictures of the parents?

Defo dominant pied.
Hard to tell if its a clearwing, greywing or dilute though. There's not much in them these days due to the way they've been bred.

Pictures of the head face on and the back of it, the wings and back, front of the bird and of the tail and feet would be helpful.

Unfortunately, there the only photos I took.

parents are-
My male is a sf spangle blue carrying opaline and my hen a sf spangle yellowface 2 pied opaline.

But I don't know if they carry greywing.

What if you compare her to her siblings from the first round? She's second round.
The markings are definitely grey on her.
She's not in this picture of course.
But thats all i know, other than pied.

Just read something-
"The cheek patches on the clearwing should be normal violet rather than pale violet of a greywing though"

In a normal clearwing that would be the case but as people often breed clearwing to greywing or dilute, it can affect the colour and you end up with poorly marked ones.

Do you have pictures of the parents?

Yeah,
I'll be getting her back in june.

I know grey wing dilutes the body.

Even if she is dilute, do you think I could pair her with a rainbow and not get normal markings?
When you say rainbow what exact mutationa are you using?

A true rainbow is either a yellow face or golden face, opaline clearwing sky blue series bird

I know I can't get true rainbow.
so leaning towards a yellow face opaline with greywing or clearwing or dilute.
