Give Me Strength....................

I know, I know I said I would not post any more od Dusky's exploits, this will certainly bring some unpleasant comments out, but due to the personal shock, I have to say something.............

It was a quiet morning, as usual, cleaning Oscars bomb site, again as per usual, hardly a sound inside or out and thinking time nearly for lunch. I walked back into the main house, dragging the rubbish bag with me when the lights started to flicker, on, off, on off,. WTH? the electricity faltering again? we pay 18.6p per unit, the stuff is made within a few Scottish miles from here but the supply line could have been laid by a load of monkeys, so nothing unusual.

On, Off, On, Off, On, Off, On, Off, On, Off, this is unusual though, usually a couple of flickers and it goes off, so I raised my eyes up to the supply box and fuses. Yep, Mr Dusky Grey, sat on the door, pressing the fuse switches, mm from the main electricity supply wire.

Then I wonder why I have so many grey hairs.

Argh! What a naughty bird you have there! I remember reading about his house-eating and thieving antics the other day, which already sounded quite bad enough. Can you construct some sort of protection for your fuse box, do you think? I'm worried that he may have got the taste for this trick now that he's seen he can make things happen by doing it.

I have been onto my husband for 9 years to make a cover, it looks ugly, but as the house does not possess an inch of straight wall he has always had an excuse, now he is going to have to do something.

I have placed a fearful walking stick up there to keep him away, you would be surprised at the alternative uses for walking sticks.

That is something that has always worried me. Luckily my 2 are not really floor birds and Nacho flies around and Roxy is usually on his cage. He can only fly in a downwards direction. Although Frankie does not bother either of the birds I think the fact that he is there warns them that is will be safer they stay away from reach. I have quite a few wires here that I try to keep away but its always a concern one will get damaged.

Heck that sounds scary....Mr Dusky is certainly an adventuresome chap :yikes: and must be a parrot of 99 lives.... why is it that things they shouldn't have are far more attractive than all the toys and activities we devise for them.
:besos: Kendra...and a nice cup of tea xx

@Nigalius You have no loose wires? Do you have real wood around? he does not like the pretend wood there seems to be everywhere these days, You used to have a CAG didn't you?

Dusky, you are a VERY naughty boy and Mummy doesn't need any more of your antics :emoji_astonished:. @Kendra if it wasn't so dangerous then it would be quite comical (the lights going on and off). Don't blame yourself though, animals always do what they're not supposed to do - just like naughty toddlers :emoji_bouquet::emoji_bouquet::emoji_bouquet:

Oh, he has been naughty again but don't feel like talking about it today. He needs a 24/7 watcher, this is all punishment because I would not let him through before 12.00 today.

Well, he's certainly making up for lost time. 18 years stuck in a cage chewing sticks and now there's a whole universe to blow up, destroy... er, explore! When you feel able to share what else he's been up to, I will be all ears!! :risas3: (Sorry)

Hi Kendra how's things going has your Dusky Grey been up to more mischief or has he been a good boy bless you x

Dave is an Amazon, he will probably just train you Brightness and be done with it.
He already has, little feathered monster! I told hubby that Dave now comes halfway out of the cage & he's terrified that he's going to attack the dogs! I have had to promise that the dogs will be upstairs when I next let the cage door open (haven't told him that it's open almost all day every day LOL). My dogs wouldn't hurt Dave - one is just over 4KG and scared of her own shadow and the other is old and hasn't many teeth left - he and Dave are also best friends - he sits with his nose in the cage and Dave kisses it! He also talks to Sweep more than he does to anyone :emoji_rolling_eyes:

Chorley OWA bites Ruby dog's bum to shift her off the couch, Dusky goes for her legs, she is at least 17 and now feeling the effects of old age both physically and mentally.

Oh oh sounds like the hammer house of naughty Parrots Kendra i know i shouldn't smile but can't help it so sorry , i think you should change Dusky Grey to Chuckie aww only joking Kendra xx
