We would like all our members to follow a few simple rules whilst using the forum, they are as follows....

No obscenities or vulgar language, this includes posting of videos of birds saying obscene words. Even though most of us are over the age of 18 some people may find it offensive, plus we have a younger generation who view the forum. We wish to teach the younger generation about raising and owning birds.

No linking of threads from other forums, unless you have this and the others forum owners permission. Links to other forums in Signatures or Avatars are not allowed under any circumstances, links to commercial websites are not allowed without prior permission and will be removed.

Everyone likes a debate, but we will not tolerate any members being abusive to one another, if you have a problem please pm a member of staff. Please keep your posts in the parrot care threads relevant to the original question, if you stray too far from the original post your comment may be deleted. This does not apply in the more social forums such as general chat etc.

If your account is inactive for a long period of time, as part of regular forum maintenance your account may be deleted. This will not stop you viewing the forum as a Guest.

Please remember, we are not trained veterinarians, neither do we claim to be them, any advice given on this website is in no way meant as a substitute for the advice of a fully qualified avian veterinarian.

Any opinions expressed on this website may not necessarily be the shared opinion of others, all our members are free to express their own views, and we take no responsibility for the behaviour or views of individuals.

The Parrot Club forums are moderated by volunteers and are here to help in any way they can. Moderators/Admin have the right to edit or delete posts without prior notice that violate the rules above. They are also responsible for keeping promoting participation in the forums. You can spot a moderator/admin because their posts indicate that they are moderators. Please PM a Moderator/Admin member if you have a problem with a post or another member and we will do our best to get it sorted for you.

Enjoy your stay with us xx

There is also a privacy policy when you log in for those who have not viewed it here it is

I would just like to bring new members, regular members and we moderators and admins attentions back to the forum rules of what is and is not allowed on this site.

It's always good to remind/refresh ourselves of what rules and guidances we agreed to join under.

This site has no advertising banners, we NEVER give/sell your private data to any third parties in any shape or form, joining and participation is free and this site is privately hosted, run and funded by the Admin. Advertising is monitored to the best of our ability, to get permission to advertise a commercial venture you must contact Admin first.

Please do NOT give out your location or your birds nor your routine in the light of the recent spate of thefts.

Leg ring numbers should always be kept strictly private that is between you, the breeder (or seller), your vet and your parrot insurance company it is your way of identifying your bird as your own in the tragic event of a lost / stolen bird. If you have queries in regard to them please think of a way of describing what you are seeing and will do our best to assist that way.

It seems I need to remind members old and new reference forum etiquette
Please take a moment to re-read the forum rules, we do not tolerate people being impolite, offensive or rude on open forum or via pm messaging.

Any member who wishes to bring to our attention such behaviour is requested to press the button marked "report" that can be seen on every post made and every pm message you receive.

The report button flags things up in private to all moderators and admin staff so it can be dealt with promptly. We don't want anyone to have a bad experience on forum sometimes we just need to agree to disagree, we are all different and individual with a common interest our beloved birds.

There is also a button available to each member that they can block another member from contacting them via pm message and it also means you will not see that person's posts on forum or indeed if they reply within a thread but all other members can see it. The only people you can't block are the staff both mods and admin. If anybody is unable to work out how to do this please contact one of us and we'll help sort it out.

Ok so these are strange times with lockdown and the extra stress it can cause and we will do our utmost to assist in anyway we can please remember staff are humans too with the same stress and worries going on.

The forum is not a company it's not a business there are no adverts on forum, we make zero money from running it, it's a privately run, owned and funded place for people to come and talk about parrots with other parrot people it's the members here that make the forum a good forum and a place to kick back and chill out i hope we can keep it this way, if it comes to a point where it fails in that department of being a good forum helping parrots and their humans to live happily together then either account deletions of those not minding their manners or closing the forum for good will be the only options.

I hate writing this kind of post and thankfully it's rare BUT it is unfortunately necessary from time to time.

Stay safe, treasure your loves one's and your feathered friends. x
