It's been a very tough 36 hours.
Yesterday morning, Roy brought in to me my beloved Cheeky (cockatiel). He was having breathing problems with tail bobbing. Cheeky has also had a lot of feathers removes with blood and Roy thought that he had been attacked by Elsie. Roy kindly dropped everything and rushed him on a 3 hour round trip to Toll Barns an avian specialist vet.
The Vet dismissed the injuries as a cause of his breathing problems and said that as he is 7, that he could have a tumour, but without Xrays to confirm it, the only other thing was to treat him for an infection.
His breathing didn't get any better today and after lunch time today, Cheeky sadly passed away.
Looking back, and going by what other members who have kindly given me support in this very difficult situation, we believe that he had a nigh fright during the night of Wednesday.
I would also like to thank all the other forum members who have given me their full support and being there for me during these difficult couple of days
Cheeky was my very first bird and he meant the world to me.
I'm devastated.
