Fly Free little Millie

My little Millie passed away early hours in the night. I woke up hearing Bernie. I was concerned and she was fine but Roy found Millie on the bottom of her cage 😢😢. In the morning she had passed away. This is all very sudden. All my budgies have been together for many years and loosing two has been awful not only for me but for the other flock members who are really pinning for Kiwi and Millie.
Millie and Buddy both came from the same breeder and have been together ever since. I can see how much Buddy is missing her 😢.
We got them a few months after I got Cheeky.

Fly free my little darling, you will always be in my heart and forever missed xxxx

They grieve too, I know Pip did when Squeaky went, and Boxer did when Jaffa went, sadly not much you can do. x

Im so sorry for your loss and to your other birds who are also grieving with you 😔 hopefully with time they will heal ❤️ ive heard stories of birds not seeing another bird pass and then looking for it for months/shouting on it and its tragic. Sometimes it is better that they know even though they have to go through the grieving process. At least they have a great owner who loves them very much and I'm sure Millie felt equally lucky to have you and very loved as well💕 Rip Millie x

Thankyou so much xx

Little Buddy has started to churp away to me like usual and dancing. I have just been sitting with them and chatting to them both. They are also eating some millet as a treat as I was worried they weren't eating enough. Sam is now venturing out of his cage and playing with the toys on the hanging branches.
They still look a bit lost but hopefully time will heal. That's all I can do really. Just be there for them.
I have had Buddy and Millie for around 9 years so that loss is going to be strange for him.

Roy said Buddy was attacking Millie when he found her on the floor of their cage. Now they are very much bonded so would this be that Buddy was trying to wake her up. Just a bit confused 😢

Awww thankyou for your kind words of wisdom.
Buddy and Sam were with Millie when she passed. He was found sitting next to her. Roy said he was attacking her but I wonder whether he was trying to wake her up. What are you thoughts?

I would say more than likely knew something was wrong an just trying to figure it all out.

Did they usually attack each other or were they all quite close? I know my parrotlets that are bonded to each other have little domestics now and then but thats just the pecking order and they are clearly besotted! Have you noticed any change in their behaviour since she passed? I wouldnt think it was anything malicious! They may have been just trying to understand. Actually seeing what has happened can help with that, as tragic as it is. I hope you're okay! X

They did have scabbles now and again but we noticed recently they we're constantly preening each other and always together and very rarely appart which was unlike them.
Roy just said he wasn't malicious.
I am ok Thankyou. Thankyou for your help. X
