First five minutes of harness training!

Wow, that's good. Means she's comfortable and her chest is not getting squished. I'm very surprised, she seems to be having fun

Oh well, truth to be told… we tried again the following day and manage to put the whole thing on and fastened and she went absolutely crazy, it was obviously uncomfortable and she just wanted to get out of it. And I think she got a bit traumatised when taking it off🤣
But that was my fault, it was a bad day to do it as she went to the vet and then spent the day outdoors inside her cage with car noises and people looking and talking to her. Too many stimulation in one day!
We’ll try again soon.
But this is just a cheap Amazon harness while we get for the aviator mini to be in stock in the uk.
Do anyone know about another reliable brand?

No, it's pretty much safe if you use it right, I'm just too scared to do it. That's why I said it's not bad. Sorry for my incorrect wording

Hi @Lauraj , fingers crossed for Kiki being OK with the vet checks. Could you please tell me what brand the Amazon bought harness was. Dora comes outside which is fine at home as we live in the middle of nowhere and she has her favourite perching spots. Also we can rely on her love of the car as a recall treat if she climbs up too high for me to get her in again.
But when she comes out with us she stays in her carry case and we'd love to have her wear a harness and come out of that. She hates the Aviator that we bought (think my husband too things too fast in trying to get her to wear it).
Thanks in anticipation for a reply.

Oh no! My question was genuine! This is my first parrot in over 7 years and I can get a bit paranoid about unknown dangers.
For example yesterday I was freaking out a bit about Kiki eating the wrong kind of grass, munching on ants or being bitten by any little bugs 🤣
So I do really appreciate any info I might be missing!

ASOCEA Adjustable Parrot Bird Harness Leash Anti-Bite Flying Training Rope Pet Outdoor Traction Fit Small Budgerigar Lovebird Cockatiel Mynah Bird (Neck Girth:3.1" -6.3"/8~16cm) https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07TDY6...abc_1S7S8TFCWMVQTK44PAKP?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

This is what I had bought. I didn’t like it because she is too small for the neck bit to be fastened properly without upsetting her. It DOES NOT look like the pictures, but I can share a photo with you when I get back home if you like!

Thank you, I'll have a look on Amazon. Dora is probably 3 - 4 inches round the neck. If I need a photo I'll let you know thanks again.😊
