Fireworks – Bonfire Night – New Year’S Eve

Looking like covid rates are helping cancel fireworks displays
Councils are cancelling their displays
Manchester ( Heaton Park, Platt Fields Park, Wythenshawe Park, Crumpsall Park, the Eithad Campus, Cringle Park, Debdale Park and Brookdale Park have all been called off), Leeds (East End Park, Roundhay Park, Woodhouse Moor, Springhead Park in Rothwell, Middleton Park and Bramley Park cancelled), Nottingham (Forest Recreation Ground cancelled) Sheffield the After Dark display that has happened for the last 20 years has decided to cancel the event forever.

London New Year fireworks on the Thames has also been cancelled although celebrations in Trafalgar Square seem to be being planned.

Ok so the some big displays not happening is good in a way but does make for a double edged sword at least we knew what time the noise was going to happen now we just have to put up with people doing their own displays at random times.

Bonfire night is almost upon us again please ensure you have things in place to assist your pets to cope with it

Absolutely hate bonfires. Luckily my linnies are indoors and not affected. My bunnies are outside though, hopping they’re ok. Can’t bring them in due to the risk of them getting gut stasis. Can’t wait for morning.

Really hoping everyone's feathered and furry family members are OK tonight and in the next few days with the stragglers letting off fireworks. We've been very fortunate in that our birds have never been bothered by fireworks, (a set of ladders and a hivis vest are MUCH more deadly:watchout:)
I'm currently sat up listening to my 8D music with headphones, but still checking on the birdy rats via cctv to be sure.
