F10 and its ratios

Hi asked this in chat but it seems more complicated than i first thought (well kind of)

My basic question was "the F10 RTU (ready to use) sold by shops, what ration is it mixed as"

i know the levels are subject to use, but if im using it direct to food bowls/toys/perches i prefer to trust them with the RTU stuff, i regularly use F10SC and F10SCXD in the sink to scrub dirty stuff and im fine with that.

I use the RTU for spot cleaning, spraying on a sponge or such to give a quick wipe around, so i use the RTU to be sure its right.

here's the problem, web site say its 1-250 mix, F10 says its 1-100 mix.
when asked about the difference all they say is "Diluted F10 SC used as an RTU will be off label use. As the RTU products are regestered for their specific uses"

I assume there is a safety factor involved in the 1-500, 1-250, 1-100 mixtures, i mean why would you use it at a 1-500 weaker mix ?

what i'm trying to get at, is this stuff still completely safe at 1-100 mix if i wipe a perch and he jumps on it, i know it will be at 1-500 as it can be in a nebuliser at 1-500 or 1-750 (depending who you ask).

All i wanted to know was the premixed ration F10 sell in the ready to use, seems to be more complicated than i thought :BangHead: :BangHead:

yes, im good with the ratio's, actually mixing them, this started as a simple question, "what ration is the F10 RTU"

You can buy refills for the RTU, but i want to mix my own, so all i wanted was the ration F10 use in the premixed stuff, and it seems to of turned into a drama.

F10 said "1-100" which seems far to strong for everyday use, Most sellers state its 1-250 for the RTU, other 1-500.

im fine with the ratios. its more what ratio do they use.

Think they have told you the highest concentration rate for PBFD rather than general disinfection

My bad now I understand what your asking
lol, to be honest, im not actually sure what im asking anymore :BangHead:

i do use the SC mixture at different strengths depending what im doing, how dirty it is, or how long since ive cleaned stuff, mostly i use it at roughly 1-500 in the sink or bowl, if its been a solid week since ive cleaned anything, i go for 1-250, but if im using direct to his cage etc, then i use the bought premix.

Yes it's safe at that strength too but at that strength it's for killing off the most stubborn viruses which you don't have. The strength of the solution is for the amount of killing power you need and for what specific bacteria/viruses rather than the amount of poop or food splatter to be cleaned.

silly question, but why not use it at 1-100 constantly, so it kills everything that "may" be there ?

surely it cant just be about money ? i assumed the higher dose would be riskier but if its completely safe at any ratio then i assume its down to money ?

From F10 for others in the future.

"Yes the F10 is bird friendly. Our maximum dilution is 10ml/L or 1:100 as long as you do not exceed that dilution and it is completely safe."

Just for clarity, if anyone else see's this 10ml/L would be the F10SC.

There are two thought trains why not to do max strength all the time these are.....

Why use max strength unless you have too hmmmm yes more strength less dilution use faster cost more

The other thought train is if you use something all the time to kill off stuff at some given point mother nature will teach us who is boss and a virus or bacteria will adapt and the product becomes ineffective ..... Think about how antibiotics no longer work for everyone and how rats became warfarin immune....
