Don't give up

Just a quick mention to anyone that is becoming despondent trying to feed their bird a better diet.

The other day after 16 months of giving and throwing most away my girl just about cleared her food bowl. Contents: homemade chop, fresh veggies and a little fruit.

This is not an everyday occurance but just goes to show things can change.

Yes, but they can also reverse, ask George, I managed to feed him a healthy diet after months of struggle until lately, don't want that, don't want this, if you put that in my bowl I will not touch anything, so there.

At the moment he only likes peas and sweet corn, almond, a little apple and grapes, otherwise anything I am eating that is bad for him. He was ancient when he came to me so I think he has had a life of living on rubbish. I did have him eating reasonably well until we moved, now he has reverted so we start the struggle again.

it may be a case of you preparing a good mixture and pretend to eat it in front of George, you can put it on a plate and let him come to try to eat it, what he dose not take can be given to the other flock members but let him see them eating it.

George hates other birds, he will attack them, shame he can not fly very well and would loose badly if I let things carry on. He regards me as his property and no-one or nothing should come near me, you had fun with him Michael remember?

yes but I did fall in love with him Ha Ha, I think you was surprised when I got him to step back up to his cage instead of biting me. I will say I had to keep him off balance so he did not get much chance to bite :risas3:
